Jean Farley Hawkins Barrett

The Bible tells us in John 14:1-3, let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.  

Jean Farley Hawkins Barrett, 89 years old of Benton, Kentucky (Sharpe) joined her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Jean was a testament of a Christian woman, wife, mother and friend.  She will be greatly missed on earth.  Her family looks forward to the day they are with her again.

She is survived by her husband, Jewell Barrett of Benton; daughters, Pam Burgess (Terry) of Mayfield and Debbie Troutt (Fred) of Golconda, IL; son, Jerry Hawkins of Grand Rivers; and two step-daughters, Sherry Cooper (Kenny) and Debby Custer (Gary) of Nashville, TN.  Her grandchildren include, Heather Meeks (Chris) of Grand Rivers and Chad Hawkins (Amy) of Paducah.  Her great-grandchildren include, Kylee Young (Nick) of Kuttawa, Devon Meeks of Grand Rivers, Drake Meeks of Grand Rivers, Kezleigh of Paducah, Kaomi Lunsford of Grand Rivers, Collynn Hawkins of Paducah, and a great great-grandson, Bennett Young of Kuttawa.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, CJ Hawkins; parents, Clifton and Leah Farley; and siblings, Vera, Marie, Bonnie, Nolan, Dorothy, Doris, Archie, Charlie, Chester, Mary Ellen, Jewell, Laverne and Elizabeth.

Thank you Mama/Nanny for loving your family unconditionally all the days of your life.  Until we meet again.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home with Todd Hawkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Fooks Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 W 5^th St, Benton, KY 42025.
