James E. Ross

James E Ross, 70 of Benton, Kentucky died on Friday, March 1, 2024, at Marshall Co. Hospital in Benton, Kentucky.

Born Wednesday, March 11, 1953 in Marshall County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late J. E. Ross and the late Edwardine Price Ross. 

James proudly served in the US Army for 20 years and received the Bronze Star. James retired with the rank of Seargent First Class. He was a member of Calvert City Church of Christ. James was a generous person and would help anyone who needed a helping hand, but most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Suk Hwa Han Ross; son, James L. Ross (Teresa) of Cadiz, KY, daughter, Rebecca Shackelford of Paducah, KY, brother, Junior Ross of Hardin, KY; grand children, Jeffery Ross, Jason Shackelford, Cameron Shackleford and Victoria Ames; and great grandchildren, Autumn and Phoenix.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  brother, Jimmy Ross, sisters, Martha Henderson, Wanda Butler, Wilma Willoughby and Mary York.

Funeral Services will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 11:00 am at Collier Funeral Home Chapel with Lance Cordle officiating.

Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Kirksey, KY.

Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Collier Funeral Home, Inc. located at 211 W 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.
