Harold "Chip" W. Gallagher

Harold "Chip" W. Gallagher, 84, of Benton passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Lakeway Nursing & Rehabilitation.

Chip was born on January 28, 1940 in Dykmans, New York to Charles Gallagher and Arlene Sniffen Gallagher. He worked as a carman for Metro North Railroad and proudly served in the United States Army. Chip enjoyed staying busy and would spend his free time fishing, hunting, and woodworking.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn DeRosa Gallagher; two sons, Patrick Gallagher (Linda) and Harold Gallagher (Sylvia) both of Benton; one daughter, Renee Faby (George) of Benton; five brothers, Oscar Gallagher, Charles Gallagher, Kenny Gallagher, Doug Gallagher, and Irving Gallagher; three sisters, Sandra Gallagher Van Keuren, Lena Gallagher, and Jean Gallagher McTighe; and five grandchildren, Michael Gallagher, Joseph Gallagher, Megan Gallagher, Cynthia Gallagher, and Brian Gallagher.

Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Arlene Gallagher; three brothers, Richard Gallagher, Ronnie Gallagher, and Butch Gallagher; and two sisters, Lillian Acocella and Helen Hyatt.

There are no funeral services currently planned.
