Glen Brewer, 75 of Benton, Ky passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, November 20, 2022.

If the School of Hard Knocks, SHK, had a president, Glen Brewer would have won by a landslide.  As the oldest of 8 children, he began helping his family out of necessity.  Glen always had time to listen or give a word of advice when needed and just his two cents worth.   He married the love of his life, Joquita when they were both wet behind the ears. Together, they built not one but two successful car repair businesses, Benton Safety Service and Glen’s Automotive. His car repair shop would rival any coffee shop in Benton first thing in the morning where Glen made time for his friends, customers and employees over donuts and coffee.   There wasn’t a problem under the hood Glen couldn’t solve.  Many repairs were paid with a handshake, credit or even a good pie, cake or cookies.  When he saw a problem, he set out to fix it.  Even serving as Benton City councilman for 5 years.  He stood up for what was right and what was fair no matter what side of the ticket that fell on.   His greatest accomplishments were his three children, Will, Jessica and Scotty.  Although, they gave Glen a run for his money with all their shenanigans.  Glen could always be counted on to help solve their problems with a listening ear and word of advice, however brutal that honesty may be.

Glen loved his family, friends and life.  He enjoyed camping, his dogs and vacationing in Texas.  There wasn’t a day that Glen wasn’t trying to fix something or help someone.  Although, we can sure appreciate those qualities in our class president, it doesn’t mean we aren’t going to miss him any less.  We are all just going to work a little harder till we meet again.

Glen Brewer is survived by his wife of 56 years Joquita, son, William Glen (Felisia), daughter, Jessica Marie (Brock), sisters Carol Johnson(Rusty),Becky Rhodes(Keith), Hazel Price(Benny), Donna Brewer and Denise Boddy)(Stacey), one brother David Brewer. Grandchildren Brent Watkins, Elijah Sloan-Brewer, Bailey Brewer, Gracie Brewer, Mattie Shay Mitchell and Zion Brewer, great grandson Isaiah Watkins, and his three dogs Annie, Si and Bart.

He was preceded in death by his father Grady Brewer, mother Virginia Brewer and his son Scotty Brewer.
