Fred Jones

Frederick James Jones, 79, of Gilbertsville, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Mercy Health- Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

Fred was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 20, 1945 to Charles and Mary (Reedy) Jones. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and worked in assembly at Ford Motor Company after his military service. Fred attended Twin Lakes Worship Center. He was an avid sports fan, particularly football and boxing. Fred enjoyed being outdoors, fishing or mowing. Above all else, Fred loved any time he was able to spend surrounded by his family.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Bruno Jones of Gilbertsville; three daughters, Richele Jones of Benton, Tara Pilcher (Brian) of Belton, Texas, and Tatum Jones of Gilbertsville; four grandchildren, Brittany Jones, Jaclyn Howard, Brianna Pilcher, and Brian Pilcher; and four great grandchildren, Abbigail Jones, Raelynn Howard, Jaelynn Howard, and Emberly Rice-Pilcher.

Fred was preceded in death by one son, Jeffrey David Jones; his parents, Charles and Mary Jones; two brothers, Walter Jones and Charles Jones; and two sisters, Catherine Mebs and Estelle Jones.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home; 211 W 5^th St. Benton, KY 42025. Military rites and burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery.

The visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 13, 2025 at Collier Funeral Home.
