Eric Merriel Jackson

Eric Merriel Jackson, age 64, of Gilbertsville, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024 in Paducah.

Eric was born in Pensacola, Florida on June 1, 1960 to Jesse Merriel Jackson and Carolyn York Bingham. He worked as an operator for TVA for 25 years. Eric was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Benton. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Eric's greatest joy in life was his daughter, Merriel. He enjoyed any time he spent with her and was a proud "Softball Dad".

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Amy Harwood-Jackson; one daughter, Merriel Jackson; his mother, Carolyn Bingham of Calvert City; one brother, Gerald "Jerry" Jackson (Angela) of Gilbertsville; two nephews, Kyle Jackson (Anne Rose) and Alex Jackson (Alyssa); and one niece, Jill Postoak (Luke).

Eric was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Merriel Jackson; and step-father, Richard Bingham.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, October 18, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home; 211 West 5th Street Benton, KY 42025.

A private family burial will be held at a later date.
