Donald "Don" Myrick

Mr. Donald “Don” William Myrick, age 71, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Mercy Health-Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky.  
Don was born on November 5, 1951, to the late Jack Dempsey Myrick and the late Mary Louise (Ramsey) Myrick. He retired as a superintendent at the Calvert City Water Department after 40 years of service. He loved all things outdoors, such as fishing and hunting. He was an avid UK sports fan. He had a passion for athletics of all kinds, he coached all his children’s little league and recreational teams. He was an accomplished athlete at St. Mary’s High School. He played an intricate role in bringing soccer to Marshall County, he was even the first soccer coach for the Lady Marshals high school soccer team. Don was a member of First Baptist of Calvert City.  
He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Linda Myrick; sons, William “Will” Myrick (Marti) and Paul Myrick (Betty); daughter, Karen Myrick; brothers, Richard Myrick, and Tommy Myrick (Minnie); sister, Joyce Walker (Randy); and grandchildren, William Myrick, Paige Myrick, and Sydney Myrick.  
He was preceded in death by his four brothers, four sisters, and his parents.  
A funeral service for Don will be held at 7:00PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home. 
Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Collier Funeral Home.
