David "Kim" Miget

David "Kim" Miget, age 68 of Benton, passed away at his home on Monday, September 4, 2023 surrounded by his family.

He was born on November 22, 1954 in Perryville, Missouri to David Miget and Jennie McCrady Miget Darnell. Kim worked as a contractor and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.

Kim was the ultimate fisherman; he would take multiple trips a year, each lasting several weeks to Lake Okeechobee, Florida to fish. He was known by many friends, family, and strangers as the master of barbeque chicken, even having Kim's Kickin' Chicken on the menu at a restaurant in Tennesse. Kim was the pillar of perseverance, strength, and determination to all of those that loved him. Through all of the adversity he faced in his life, Kim never once gave up or wavered in his faith. When most people would have given in, Kim fought hard to stay incredibly active and busy. He was a talented carpenter and used his skills to help others with the Kentucky Changers.

Kim is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Miget; one son, Michael (Robin) Miget of Dyer, TN; three daughters, Jessica Foster of Hollow Rock, TN, Nikki Rollins of Franklin, TN, and Kailey Watkins of Smithland; one step-son, Jonathan (Stacy) Poe of Benton; one step-daughter, Katherine (Shane) Stevenson of Benton; two sisters, Shelli Brill of Benton and Katana Tronhow of California; and two bonus brothers, Danny Seaford and Rodney Reed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Miget and Jennie Miget Darnell; two brothers, Mike Miget and Bill Miget; and one infant sister, Connie Sue Miget.

The Miget family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105, on lieu of flowers.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home, Inc with Bro. Monty Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Collier Funeral Home Inc.
