David Earl Gossum

David Earl Gossum, 70 of Benton, KY died on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Mercy Health - Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.

Born Wednesday, June 20, 1951 in Fulton, KY, he was the son of the late Earl Gossum and the late Yvonne (Moore) Gossum.  He was a 1969 graduate of North Marshall High School.

Mr. Gossum was veteran of the US Army and retired as a long haul truck driver for Quality Carriers. He was a member of the William A. Doyle American Legion Post 236, Hope Harbor Church, and was active in Sleep in Heavenly Peace Ministries.  

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sharon (Keeling) Gossum of Benton, KY; sons, John Gossum of Sikeston, MO and  Jared Gossum wife Jennie of Mayfield, KY; Daughter, Stacey Gossum of Benton, KY; brothers, Dick Gossum of Phoenix, AZ, Jim Gossum of Diamond Dale, MI; grandchildren, Faith Gossum, Caleb Wood, Erin Gossum; and great grandchildren, Arya Whitfield and Ella Mayes. 

Mr. Gossum was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Bob Gossum and Tom Gossum.

A Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hope Harbor Church, 2771 Highway 94 East, Murray, KY, with Pastor Brad Morris, Bro. Larry Meade and Pastor Art Heinz officiating.

Interment will be in Stewart Cemetery, Almo, KY.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 7, 2022, at Hope Harbor Church.
