Dan Moore

Dan Moore, age 85 of Gilbertsville, KY passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY.  

Daniel Lee Moore was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on December 23, 1939 to the late Ralph R. Moore and Stella Griggs Moore.  He was the owner and operator of Dan's Boat Repair at Kentucky Dam.  Dan proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corp and was a volunteer firefighter.  He was also a history buff and fan of all sports.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Eric Moore of Gilbertsville, KY; daughter, Kim Powell (Dennis) of Gilbertsville, KY; brother, Steve Moore of Florida; grandchildren, Dustin Powell (Cassie) and Kayla Bailey (Travor); great-grandchildren, Olivia Powell, Odin Powell, and Hudson Bailey.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Louise Belt Moore; brother, Jerry Moore; sister, Judy Armstrong; and his parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Kentucky Lake Mission, 5570 Moors Camp Hwy, Gilbertsville, KY 42044.  Interment will follow at Moreland Cemetery, Gilbertsville, KY.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Kentucky Lake Mission on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
