Claude Bohannon, Jr., 80, of Kirksey passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Murray-Calloway Co. Hospital in Murray, Kentucky.
Claude was born in Marshall County on June 23, 1942 to the late Claude Bohannon, Sr. and Adelene Rose Bohannon. He was a member of Hickory Grove Church of Christ. Claude served as an elder for 15 years at Oak Valley Church of Christ where he taught Sunday school to both children and adults.
Claude worked at General Tire for 37 years. Over the years, he worked in construction where he could fix or build just about anything. Claude also farmed and raised tobacco. He enjoyed coaching his children in little league sports and later in life, cheering on his grandchildren at their games.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce Ford Bohannon of Kirksey; his daughter, Joy Farmer, husband, Chip of Benton; two sons, Rodney Bohannon, wife, Cheryl of Murray and Ryan Bohannon, wife, Lisa of Benton; brother, Ronnie Bohannon, wife, Sandy of Fairdealing; sister, Sarah Franklin, husband, Jerry of Kirksey; six grandchildren, Caden Bohannon, Chase Bohannon, Chandler Bohannon, Tyler Bohannon, Trevor Bohannon and Alec Glassco; four great-grandchildren, Mia Bohannon, Caleb Bohannon, Kailee Bohannon and Abel Glassco.
He was preceded in death by his brother, George Edward Bohannon and his parents.
A funeral service for Claude will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Collier Funeral Home located at 211 West 5th Benton, Kentucky 42025 with Bradley Smith and Mike Ernestberger officiating. Interment will follow at Marshall Co. Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home.
