Charles William Riley

Mr. Charles William Riley, 86 of Benton, KY passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray, KY.

Born Tuesday, March 17, 1936 in Benton, KY, he was the son of the late Dewey L. and Edith (Canup) Riley. He was a chemical operator for 34 years at B.F. Goodrich Chemical in Calvert City, KY. Mr. Riley also was a licensed Realtor and was a member of Benton First Baptist Church, Benton, KY. He honorably served his country during the Berlin Crisis in the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Edna (Collins) Riley of Benton, KY and daughter, Sherry Lynn Adams, husband Clint of Benton, KY. Also surviving are nieces, Becky Canup, Sharon Denslow, Tammy Barclay and Sandy Freeland.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma Lee Taylor, husband Carroll, Mary Elizabeth Phillips, husband Joe and Martha Bohannon, husband Louis, niece Susan Burnett and nephew Philip "Flip" Bohannon.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.  Bro. Mark Thweatt and Bro. Charlie Canup officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Benton, KY.

The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, KY.
