Carole A. Wilson, 82 of Newark, OH; passed away on November 30, 2024, at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
Carole was born to Sanford Baker and Lear Cable Baker on December 20, 1941, in Shelby Gap, KY. She was a talented seamstress and artist, specializing in watercolors and porcelain dolls. Carole will be remembered as a dedicated homemaker, and a confirmed dog lover, most especially Yorkies.
She is survived by her husband John Wilson of Newark, OH; son Dale L. Haney, Jr (Karen) of Benton, KY; stepsons Stephen Wilson of Columbus, OH and Scott Wilson (Serita) of Newark, OH. Sisters Phyl Baker of Lucasville, OH; Sue Davis of Newark, OH and brother Gary Baker of Portsmouth, OH. Grandchildren William Haney of Louisville, KY; Walter Haney (Pompea) of Prospect, KY; Kathryn Porter (Nick) of Benton, KY; Kristyn Haney of Benton, KY; Elizabeth Miller of Florence, SC; Sarah Yeakley (Steven) of Newark, OH and Sydney Wills (Ethan) of Newark, Ohio. Great-grandchildren Lila Haney, Max Haney, Kash Porter, Johnny Blase, Cooper Yeakley, Charlotte Yeakley, and Jaxson Wills.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Dale L. Haney, one brother John Baker, and her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home Wolfe-Nelson Chapel located at 5951 Gallia Pike Rd Sciotoville, OH 45662.
Burial will follow at the Vernon Cemetery in Wheelersburg, OH.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2024, between the hours of 12 p.m. and 2 p.m. at D.W. Swick Funeral Home Wolfe-Nelson Chapel.
