Betty Burkeen

Betty Louise Burkeen, 86 of Sharpe, Kentucky passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Kentucky.

Betty was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 8, 1937 to the late Terrell McCoy and Trudie Metheny McCoy.  She retired from Sharpe School Elementary as a cook.  Betty enjoyed working in the garden tending to her flowers and cooking.  She was a member of Calvert City church of Christ.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Robey, husband Harold and Debbie Tabor, husband Don, all of Paducah; three grandchildren, Jennifer Showers (Mike), Becky Aarbig (Joey) and Brian Robey; six great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Everett Burkeen; son, Ronald Gene Burkeen; daughter-in-law, Lesa Burkeen; two brothers, Bobby McCoy and Don McCoy; one sister, Lola Salyers; and her parents.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home with Lance Cordle officiating.  Interment will follow at Dees Cemetery in Calvert City, KY.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM service time on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
