Coy Owen Jr

Mr. Coy Owen Jr., 89, from Salem, passed from this life on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Livingston Hospital and Healthcare Services in Salem, KY.
 Coy enjoyed working on cars, fishing, Nascar, storytelling, Gospel and Country music. He built homes and was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War. Coy was a member of Pinckneyville Baptist Church. He was a farmer and loved his family dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Dorothy Kitchens Butler Owen, sons; David A Owen of Burna  and Coy H (Sandy) Owen of Burna, daughter; Candace L (Mark) Champion of Burna and step daughter Jo Ellen Stinnett of Eddyville; grandchildren, Derek (Chasta) Champion of Salem, Andrew Champion of Paducah, Abby Owen of Burna, Rachel Owen (Chip) Birman of Burna, step grandchild Robby (Leigh Ann) Maxwell of Princeton; great-grandchildren Jett Champion, Knox Champion, Emma Owen, Brick Owen, C J Birman, Katelyn Birman, Abigail Birman, Drew Birman and Camery Maxwell.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, June Jennings Owen; parents Coy Owen Sr and Fada Cook “Smith” Owen; brothers Jimmy D. Owen, Harold W Owen and Thomas B. Owen; sister, Jeanetta Owen Hardin, and step son John “Butch” Butler.
A graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Old Salem Cemetery with Bro Ed Clement officiating.
