Obie J. Mitchuson

Mr. Obie J. Mitchuson, 79 of Dexter, KY, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024, at Mills Nursing & Rehabilitation in Mayfield, KY.    
 
Born January 28, 1945 in Calloway County, Obie was the son of the late Obie Mitchuson and the late Ethel (Baker) Cothran Mitchuson.  He worked for Chevrolet in Indianapolis, IN and later was a self-employed carpenter laborer.
 
Those left to cherish memories of Obie include his children, Kevin (Amy) Mitchuson of Dexter and Lisa Lynn (Donnie) Hutson of Murray; grandchildren, Danny (Marissa) Hutson, Donnie Hutson, and Samuel Mitchuson; one great grandchild Cody Hutson; brother Gary Mitchuson and sister Patricia Mitchuson Lane.   Many nieces and nephews also survive.
 
In addition to his parents, Obie was preceded in death by his wife Patty Sue (Maness) Mitchuson and siblings, Dorothy Cothran Baker, Lawrence Cothran, Juanita Cothran Jones, Margie Nell Mitchuson, Christine Mitchuson Geerdes, and Rodger Mitchuson.
 
Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in the Land Between the Lakes.
 
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Obie’s name to the Calloway County Animal Shelter, 81 Shelter Lane, Murray, KY 42071.
