Ms. Norma Jean “Jeanie” Whitesell, 71 of New Concord, KY passed away Monday, September 25, 2023, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital, Murray, KY.
Born August 6, 1952, in Nashville, TN, she was the daughter of the late Elijah Vester Pirtle and the late Mable Dean (Roberts) Pirtle. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church in Murray, KY.
Jeanie is survived by her children, Kimberly (Paul) Winchester, of Murray, KY, and Angela (Brandon Overby) Hale of Paris, TN; grandchildren, Timothy Chapman of Murray, KY, Kellie Chapman of Farmington, KY, Harleigh (Brodie) Merrell of Sedalia, KY, and Dalton Winchester of Murray, KY; great-grandchildren, Trinyte Merrell and Joshua Merrell both of Sedalia, KY and Brantley Winchester of Murray, KY; sister, Mable (Billy) Powell of Madison, TN; and brother, Elijah (Kay) Pirtle, Jr. of Charlotte, TN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, William “Bubba” Pirtle; and sisters, Sylvia Pirtle, Janet Shepard, Mary Elliott; and grandson, Zakari S. Winchester.
A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
