Mrs. June Gray (Overcast) Ladd, 90 of Murray, KY passed away November 14, 2022, at Spring Creek Healthcare, Murray, KY, surrounded by her family.
Born April 6, 1932 in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Bryan Cortez and Patye (Wall) Overcast. Mrs. Ladd was an avid reader and gardener, spending many hours tending her flowers. She was an assistant manager at Sears in Murray, then a secretary at Ezell Beauty School and later worked in the business office at Murray Supply Company. After retirement, she and her husband Bill enjoyed traveling. She joined First United Methodist Church in Murray on July 18, 1948, giving 74 years of faithful service.
June is survived by her children, Brenda Turner, husband Larry of Murray, KY, Martha Green, husband Jim of Murray, KY and Steve Ladd, wife Debbie of Murray, KY; grandchildren, Jennifer Baumer, husband Mark of Prospect, KY, Jonathan Turner, wife Peggy of New Concord, KY, Dr. Neely Armes of Louisville, KY, Trey Green, wife Cara of Benton, KY, Amy May, fiancé Paul of Herrin, IL, Angie McCord, husband Jeremy of Murray, KY and Dustin Ladd, wife Tara of Murray, KY. Mrs. Ladd is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren and locally by her niece, Lisa Darnell of Murray.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband William Arthur “Bill” Ladd, to whom she was married on July 30, 1950 in Corinth, MS; brothers, Thomas Overcast, Jerry Overcast; sisters, Marguerite Harrell and Eva Clees; and grandson, Chip Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 19, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home in Murray, KY with Rev. Jim Stahler officiating and Rev. Jennifer Baumer delivering the eulogy.
Interment will follow the service at the Bonner Cemetery, Murray, KY.
Friends may visit with the family Saturday, November 19, 2022, after 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1:00 p.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
