Jane Collins Cathey

Jane Collins Cathey, 99, of Murray, KY, passed away August 27, 2024, at Spring Creek Health Care and Rehabilitation, Murray, KY.
 
She was born September 29, 1924, in Calloway County, KY, to the late Edward Dennis Kirks and the late Ruby Jewell (Walker) Kirks. Jane was a Homemaker and a member of Memorial Baptist Church in Murray. She loved the Lord, family, and friends. She was known for her cooking, canning, sewing and growing beautiful flowers.
 
Memories of Jane will be cherished by many surviving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her first husband, Harrison G. Collins to whom she married May 26, 1946; her second husband, Thomas O. Cathey; brothers, Edward “Dee” Kirks, Pat Kirks and Tommy Kirks; and sisters, Maddie Jo Ross, Ruth Mills and Annette Smith.
 
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, with Bro. Brett Miles and Bro. Martin Severns officiating.  Burial will follow the services in the Barnett Cemetery, Benton, KY.
 
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour at 12:00 p.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 South 4^th Street, Murray, KY 42071.
