James E. Burton

Mr. James E. Burton, 69 of Murray, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Murray Calloway Co. Hospital, Murray, KY.

Born April 2, 1953, in Murray, KY, he was the son of the late Clyde Virgil Burton and Suzie (Hutson) Burton.  Mr. Burton retired after 37 years of service from the City of Murray Sanitation Department, Murray, KY., and was a member of Williams Chapel Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years of marriage, Meleia (Spann) Burton of Murray, KY, one son Grant Burton of Murray, KY and his granddaughter, Addyson Marie Burton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Virgil Gene Burton and sister Virginia Burton.
 
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home in Murray, KY with John Dale officiating.
 
Interment will follow the service in the Young Cemetery, (Lynn Grove Community) Murray, KY.
 
Friends may visit with the family Friday, August 19, 2022, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4^th St., Murray, KY 42071.
