Mr. Jack Hartley Hollister, 96 of Murray, KY, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Born December 7, 1928 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, Jack was the son of the late Donald John and Lorry Lavina (Ebert) Hollister. He honorably served in the U.S. Navy for four years, with two of those in foreign/sea services, during the Korean War. Jack served on the USS Bennington, and was awarded a Navy Occupation Service Medal with European Clasp, a National Defense Service Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.
Jack was employed by Lockheed Missiles & Space Company (now known as Lockheed Martin) for 30 years. He was a Senior Systems Test Engineer and worked at many test sites over his tenure.
Jack is survived by one nephew, three nieces, and their families, all of Minnesota. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Joan Beth Hollister and Donna Lorry Michalski.
To honor Jack’s wishes, no public services will be held. Burial will take place in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
