Mrs. Geraldine Portis Mathis, 86 of Murray, KY passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at The Farms at Puryear in Puryear, TN.
Born September 6, 1936, in Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Portis and the late Lovie (Rickman) Portis Maupin. Mrs. Mathis was retired from Fisher Price Toys/Mattel of Murray and sold Watkins Products for many years. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, Murray, KY.
Geraldine is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe L. Mathis of Murray, KY; daughter, Verenda J. Mathis and son, Trevor J. Mathis, wife Lori, both of Murray, KY. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Joe Ted Portis and J. T. Portis.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home in Murray, KY with Bro. Ron Mathis officiating. Burial will follow the service in the Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, KY.
Friends may visit with the family Monday, February 20, 2023, between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the Blalock-Coleman Funeral Home, 713 S. 4th St., Murray, KY 42071.
The family request that memorial contributions be made in Geraldine’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
