Georgia Lou Lockhart

Georgia Lou (Edwards) Lockhart, 85, of Hazel, KY, passed away Monday, August 19, 2024, at Spring Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Murray, KY.
 
Born August 5, 1939, in Murray, KY, she was the daughter of the late Janie Frances (Hendrick) Edwards and George Raymond Edwards. Lovingly called “Mema” by her children and grand-children, Georgia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister.
 
Those left behind to cherish the memories of Georgia are her children, David (Carole) Lockhart of Collierville, TN; Gary (Barbie) Lockhart of Hazel, KY; Belinda (Nick) Chavez of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Shannon (Rich) Taylor of Naperville, IL; Brandy (Michael) Gilio of Oswego, IL; Jessica Rowlett of Buchanan, TN; Amanda Rowlett of Springville, TN; Cheryl Lockhart of Cincinnati, OH; Owen Chavez, Eli Chavez, Sam Chavez, and Violet Chavez, all of Louisville, KY; great-grandchildren, Madison Gilio and Sara Gilio, both of Oswego, IL; Max Rodriguez and Roman Rodriguez, both of Naperville, IL; Luna Rowlett of Buchanan, TN; and siblings, Norma Ford of Murray, KY; Donald Edwards of Murray, KY; Ronald Edwards of Roseburg, OR; Shirley Edwards of Murray, KY.
 
In addition to her parents, Georgia was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Lockhart; daughter, Jerri Rowlett; great-granddaughters, Autumn and Emelia Salazar; and special friend & companion, Bob Starks.
 
In accordance with Georgia’s wishes, her family will honor her life privately with burial following in the Hazel Cemetery.
