More than 1500 set for fall commencement at SIU Carbondale

More than 1,500 Southern Illinois University Carbondale students will graduate at the fall 2025 commencement on Saturday.

According to the university there are 1,536 candidates for degrees: 893 for bachelor’s degrees, 503 for master’s degrees, 99 for doctoral degrees, and one for a law degree. The youngest graduate is 19 and the oldest is 71.

In addition to students from the United States, students from Bangladesh, Barbados, Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, India, Iran, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom will also graduate.

Saturday's commencement will start at 9:30 a.m. at the Banterra Center.
