Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams is joining the bipartisan steering committee for National Voter Registration Day.
Adams will advise the committee, along with Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon. The committee helps organize volunteers and civic groups as they set out to add new voters to the rolls.
"Too many prospective voters are not having their voices heard, and that weakens our democracy," said Adams. "The pandemic has caused voter registration to flatline. I'm honored to join National Voter Registration Day's efforts to boost participation."
National Voter Registration Day originated in 2012, and the effort has registered nearly 4.5 million new voters.
National Voter Registration Day is September 20th.
