Lyon County Teen Dies in Calvert City Crash

A Lyon County teen was killed Thursday afternoon in a crash in Calvert City involving a commercial vehicle.

At around noon Thursday, 16 year-old Allie Michelle Kirtley was traveling just west of I-24,  Exit 27, at Calvert City. Kirtley’s vehicle collided with a truck hauling limestone rock near the Calvert City McDonald’s Restaurant. The truck overturned, shutting down both directions of travel on the roadway for several hours.

Kirtley was taken to Marshall County Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1:14 p.m.
