The owners of a popular lakes area restaurant that was destroyed in a fire earlier this year will soon begin the process of rebuilding.
Ann Martin, Director of Public Relations and Marketing for Patti's 1880's Settlement, said it won't be long before crews break ground on the new building.
"We've got the plans there up at the state getting approved, and we're ready to go. We're hoping to break ground here in about six or seven weeks. The light is beginning to shine at the end of the tunnel." She said.
Martin said that while the restaurant won't be back open for some time, folks can still come by Patti's to enjoy plenty of festivities for the Independence Day holiday.
"We've got lots of goodies that we're gonna run on special," Martin said. "We've got a red white and blue dessert we're gonna run at the ice cream parlor. All those going to the fireworks displays and all that around there, come see us. The town's hopping. We've got it decorated up there at the settlement, and we're celebrating the fourth just as we always would. Maybe at a smaller scale, but we're still celebrating."
Although the restaurant is closed, Martin said there is a food truck on site that serves a variety of treats to visitors. She invited everyone who comes out for the fireworks celebrations at the lake to come by and visit.
