Western Kentuckians have each other's backs. They have proved it again with the torrential rains and flooding that took place on Wednesday.

Neighboring counties not hit as hard as those in Graves, Carlisle, Hickman, and Ballard County jumped into action to help out.

In Arlington members of the Calloway County Fire-Rescue team joined Carlisle first responders, bringing three boats and five officers to help with water rescues.

Marshall County Judge Executive Kevin Spraggs sent members of the Marshall County Road Department to help in Graves County where the rushing water washed out roads.

Meanwhile at the state level, Transportation Secretary Jim Gray signed and emergency order lifting some restrictions on commercial truck drivers bringing critical supplies to affected areas. Attorney General Daniel Cameron also activated his office's price gouging hotline.
