A traffic stop in Paducah nabbed a wanted man, who will now face additional drug charges.

Just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, a McCracken County Sheriff's detective spotted a man riding a motorcycle on Brown Street and the license plate was not displayed properly. The driver,  43-year-old Steven Brown of Paducah, did not have a motorcycle license and the bike in question had not been registered.

Brown allegedly took a pill bottle with over twelve grams of meth in it out of his pocket during the encounter with the detective and another deputy. When they tried to arrest Brown, he reportedly screamed, yelled, and resisted.

The detective also noticed that Brown was wearing a GPS ankle monitor. He had been sentenced in a Monroe County court to house arrest in August on charges of DUI, reckless driving, fleeing or evading police, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and other offenses.

Brown was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and traffic violations.

The sheriff's office said that Brown has a history of convictions for manufacturing methamphetamine, theft of an automobile, and more.
