Fire destroys Calloway County home

A fire early Wednesday morning did significant damage to a Calloway County home.

Calloway County Fire and Rescue was notified just before 4 a.m. about the fire on Duncan Trail near Almo. The witness that called 911 said the home was engulfed, but there did not appear to be anyone home.

When firefighters arrived they worked to keep the fire from spreading to a nearby structure. Seventeen firefighters and nine units worked the scene for about 4 hours. 

The home was said to be a total loss, but no injuries were reported.
