The person chosen to become the new Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at Murray State University will not be coming to the school after all.
In a campus-wide email Monday, President Dr. Ron Patterson said Dr. Rose Marie Ward will not accept this position. It was announced in a December 12th Board of Regents meeting Ward would accept the position.
Ward is currently the special consultant to the Provost and professor of psychology at the University of Cincinnati. She also serves as the vice provost and dean of the graduate college.
Ward was to replace Dr. Tim Todd, who stepped down from the position in November. Dr. Patterson said the search process for Todd's replacement will continue with the assistance of the consulting firm of Greenwood, Asher and Associates, the school's executive search firm.
