Wanted Metropolis man arrested, caught with drugs

A wanted Metropolis man was arrested and will face additional drug charges.

Metropolis Police spotted 61-year-old Jeffery A. Beal on 8th Street. The officer recognized Beal, who was wanted on a criminal damage to property warrant. He was picked up by police and taken to the Massac County Detention Center.

A search of Beal was conducted as he was booked into the jail. That search reportedly uncovered methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on his person. 

In addition to the warrant, Beal now faces additional charges of meth possession and bringing contraband into a penal institution.
