Series of shots fired calls results in two people being shot near Mounds

A series of shots fired calls in the Mounds area have injured two people.

Illinois State Police confirmed to WFCN that the injuries of the two men shot are not life-threatening. The Division of Criminal Investigation from the Illinois State Police was called in to lead the investigation by the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office. Reports had ISP, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, and the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office in multiple locations looking for evidence in the cases.

There has been no word on any arrests as of yet. The investigation is continuing.
