A Tuesday traffic stop turned into a drug arrest for a Paducah woman.
A McCracken County Sheriff's deputy stopped a vehicle along US 60 on Tuesday night for what was described as a traffic violation. The deputy recognized the driver, 45-year-old Nancey Ali of Paducah. Given that he was familiar with her history, a second deputy and a K-9 were called in to assist.
The K-9 performed what deputies refer to as a free-air sniff and indicated the possible presence of drugs in the vehicle. A subsequent search of the car reportedly turned up a syringe with liquid that is said to have tested positive for methamphetamine.
Ali was arrested and charged with meth possession, careless driving, windows not safety glass, failure to produce an insurance card, and no license in her possession.
Ali was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
