A trespassing complaint on Saturday sent a homeless man to jail on a drug charge.

Metropolis Police were called by the owner of a property in the 1000 block of Broadway about someone there illegally. When police arrived they noticed damage around the rear door and upon entry, they reportedly found a homeless man, 28-year-old Dustin O. Cohoon. The property was clearly marked with no trespassing signs, according to officers.

Police said Cohoon was wanted on warrants for possession of methamphetamine. Allegedly more meth was found in Cohoon's backpack. He was served with the warrants and charged additionally with meth possession and criminal trespass to a residence.

Cohoon was taken to the Massac County Detention Center.
