A routine traffic stop Thursday landed a Mayfield man in jail for a parole violation and other charges.

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they stopped 51-year-old Donnie Garlic of Mayfield for a traffic violation at  Commerce and Cairo Road.

They said Garlic had a parole violation warrant and was arrested, while a search of his vehicle allegedly revealed a set of scales and a small amount of methamphetamine. Subsequently, detectives searched his residence in Mayfield and found additional drugs.

Garlic was charged with no registration and possession of methamphetamine.
