A Tennessee teen was airlifted to a Nashville hospital Wednesday morning after his vehicle collided with a garbage truck that was stopped on the road along the road for a pickup.

Graves County Sheriff's deputies said the collision occured along State Line Road when 19-year-old Harley Davis Todd of Dresden, Tennessee struck the rear of a truck owned by Hall's Waste Management. The truck had stopped, engaged its emergency flashers, and the driver, 31-year-old Travis Fort of Mayfield, was exiting the vehicle.

Todd was airlifted to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of his injuries. Fort was transported to Jackson Purchase Medical Center.

A passenger in the garbage truck was not injured.
