A suspect is in custody after a stabbing incident in Princeton on Tuesday.

Officers went to a home on North Seminary Street and found 45-year old Joseph D. Traylor, of Princeton, lying on the street with a stab wound to his chest.

Traylor was taken to Caldwell County Hospital and was later flown by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

The suspect, 19-year old Vyshown T. Christy of Princeton, returned to the scene shortly after the incident and turned himself into police.

Police said Christy allegedly confessed that he stabbed Traylor.

Christy was charged with first-degree assault and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
