One injured in Calloway County house fire

A Sunday afternoon fire at a Calloway County home sent one person to the hospital with burns.

Calloway County Fire Rescue was dispatched to the fire on KY 94 East. There were initial reports of residents still inside the home and that ammunition was being triggered by the fire. The first units that got to the scene said that fire was coming out of the home's front window.

Fire crews located all of the residents, who had already gotten out of the home. The residents were checked out by EMS, and one person was sent to the hospital with burns. Firefighters said that they were able to contain most of the fire to the home's kitchen and front room.

The homeowner said the fire started when grease ignited during cooking.
