A small earthquake shook a portion of Southeast Missouri late Saturday.
The quake registered a magnitude of 2.8 at about 9:30 p.m. According to the U.S. Geological Survey at the University of Memphis, it was centered about 6.2 miles south-southeast of Matthews, Missouri, or about 14 miles south of Sikeston.
The U.S.G.S. had at least fourteen people say that they felt the tremor. No damage has been reported.
