Rolling roadblocks planned on I-24 Sunday between Calvert City and Smithland exits

The Tennessee Valley Authority is planning rolling roadblocks on Interstate 24 in Marshall and Livingston counties on Sunday as part of a project to retire a 161-kV overhead transmission line.

Work is scheduled to take place between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. between Exit 27 at Calvert City and Exit 31 at Grand Rivers.

During this time, TVA crews will remove existing overhead wires at both locations.

To safely complete the work, traffic will be slowed for about 15 minutes at each site, and possibly twice per location, as old lines are removed.
