Reidland Elementary student honored for bravery

When a McCracken County school bus got caught in floodwaters, Tuesday, one Reidland student jumped into action, helping the driver and Sheriff's deputies get his schoolmates off the bus.

Lucas Taylor helped the six other students stay calm. Lucas stayed on the bus, even as water was coming in, to make sure everyone got off safely. 

On Friday, the McCracken County Sheriff's Office awarded Lucas the Citizen Meritorious Conduct Certificate, and a Sheriff's Office Challenge Coin for his "great courage, integrity, character, and compassion for the other children in a terrifying situation."
