Princeton teen charged with murder after altercation

A Princeton teenager is charged with murder after a man was shot in an altercation on Saturday night.

Princeton police told WPKY that they responded to a residence on Mechanic Street and found the victim, 42-year-old Gregory Cain, on the front porch with multiple gunshot wounds. 

Cain was transported to Caldwell County Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said 18-year old Ashton L. Ocampo was taken into custody about 30 minutes later after officers were told by dispatch he was at the post office and wanted to turn himself in. 

Ocampo was taken to the Princeton Police Department where he allegedly confessed to the shooting. He was charged with murder and lodged in the Caldwell County Jail.
