A Princeton man was sentenced on Monday after being convicted on gun and drug charges in federal court in Bowling Green.

Court documents show that 58-year-old Rodney Ware of Princeton was arrested in Todd County in August of 2020 with over 15 grams of pure methamphetamine, allegedly with intent to distribute the drugs. Reportedly, Ware also had a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun.

Ware had previously been convicted of a felony that made it illegal for him to possess a firearm. He was also sentenced in this case for violating the National Firearms Act, because the sawed-off shotgun was not registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky.

Ware was sentenced to 8 years and nine months in prison, plus 4 years of supervised release.
