Kentucky State Police report that three people were killed and several injured in a multi-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon in Livingston County.

The crash had westbound traffic blocked at the 32-mile marker just east of the Grand Rivers exit, on the approach to the Tennessee River bridge which is down to one lane for bridge work.

According to KSP, 24-year-old Mansur Kholikov of Brooklyn, New York, was driving a semi when traffic began to slow down. However, KSP said Kholikov‘s semi did not slow down.

The semi reportedly collided with multiple other vehicles, causing secondary collisions involving five other vehicles.

When first responders arrived, one of the vehicles was completely engulfed in flames. The driver, 68-year-old Saundra Dodd of Evansville, along with two children who were inside the vehicle died at the scene.

Two people from other vehicles were airlifted to out-of-state hospitals, while additional victims were taken to local hospitals.

Kholikov did not report any injuries.

Traffic was backed up all the way to the Eddyville exit after the crash, and approaching traffic was detoured at Cadiz and Eddyville to reduce the backlog until the crash site was cleared around 9 p.m.
