Passenger arrested for meth after a stop near Benton

A traffic stop near Benton ended with a passenger in the vehicle allegedly being found with drugs.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies stopped a vehicle for traffic violations on Friday along US 641 near Benton. A passenger in the vehicle, 50-year-old Almi Garcie-Lira of Benton, is said to have had methamphetamine in her possession. Garcie-Lira was arrested and charged with possession of meth and drug paraphernalia. 

She was taken to the Marshall County Detention Center.
