A McCracken County couple is in jail, after the woman allegedly assaulted her grandmother following an argument.

Paducah Police spoke to a woman Friday morning in the 1000 block of North 6th Street. The woman told officers that she and her granddaughter, 28-year-old Linzee Mills, argued over money. The woman alleged that Mills took over $1,200 dollars in cash, after Mills struck the woman in the head with a tire iron.

The woman said that Mills took the money and ran to her car. Mills' boyfriend, 31-year-old Cardell Copeland, was waiting in the car, and allegedly shoved the woman, as she tried to take her money back.

According to the report, the woman fell back into her yard and a neighbor notified police. She was taken to the hospital for the injury to her head.

Police obtained and served a search warrant at Mills' home on College Avenue. Mills was arrested and charged with assault and robbery. Copeland was arrested for complicity to robbery.
