Paducah mother charged with child abuse

A Paducah woman was arrested last week on charges of child abuse following an incident which occurred in January.

The McCracken County Sheriff's Office said they were contacted by an out-of-state children’s hospital in January in regard to a three-year-old female who had arrived at their facility, suffering from fractured bones and injuries consistent with abuse.
 
A lengthy investigation followed which resulted in the arrest of the child's biological mother, 35-year-old Jessica Banton.

Banton was located and arrested in Ballard County for criminal abuse 1st degree and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.
