Paducah man charged with receiving stolen firearm

A traffic stop in Paducah on Saturday landed a local man behind bars on a gun charge.

Officers stopped the vehicle on Friedman Lane Saturday afternoon, and said the passenger, 23-year-old Tyreck M. Winkler, had a handgun in the waist of his pants.

A computer check reportedly revealed the gun was stolen from an unlocked vheicle in 2020.

Authorities said Winkler told them he found the gun on Paducah's north side, but refused to say where.

He was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and taken to the McCracken County jail.
