A Murray man is facing several charges after resisting arrest following a traffic stop on Tuesday.

A Calloway County Sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on Industrial Road around 9:30 pm.  The driver, 48-year-old Steve Colson, was non-licensed and did not have insurance. He also reportedly stated he was not going to comply with the deputy’s’ directives and leave the scene in his vehicle. Colson was taken into custody after allegedly resisting arrest and was found to be in possession of a handgun while being a convicted felon.

Colson was charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, resisting arrest and various traffic offenses.
